Hello Treasure,
I hope this finds you doing wonderfully well today. March is already here and this is the time where I get to share with you all the happenings of Healing Treasures Massage so you can be “in the know”. Grab a lovely cuppa and let’s visit for a few minutes. In this issue you will find: ~Covid Current News~ ~Office Updates~ ~Dates to Remember~ ~Recipes~ ~Self Care~ & ~Special Offers~ Covid Current News We definitely are in a time where news and learned information changes quickly. At this time I do want re-affirm that even if you have at some point tested positive for Covid or have had the vaccine, it is still the standard that you wear a mask during your appointment per CDC guidelines as well as the Oregon Board of Massage Therapy. If this is too difficult on your respiratory system, let’s talk about how we can work together to find a solution for your massage sessions. Also, as things change and we learn more, doctors are finding that the vaccine can cause an inflammatory response in the lymphatic system. This is actually a pretty normal response as the body uses the lymphatic system to clean. That inflammation is a way to sort of ‘flush out the pipes’. I bring this up because for women especially, this can show itself as heavier monthly cycles, extreme breast tenderness, and even false positives on mammogram imaging. If you have received your vaccine and are experiencing this type of discomfort, don’t be alarmed. Your body is not betraying you. Talk with your doctor about what you are experiencing. Don’t avoid your mammogram. Those are important images to keep up with. Just let them know you have recently had the vaccine. Then, let’s talk about ways massage can help relieve that pressure and discomfort. Office Updates Last month I was able to add to the many types of things I can offer you by way of purchasing a hydrocollator. I know, what is the world is that, right? The easiest answer is that it is a device that gives me the ability to provide heated hydrotherapy with lightly weighted clay packs during massage sessions. Benefits of this type of therapy are that it enables circulation to open and eases joint mobility. And goodness it feels so good. Those who have tried it already say they can feel the heat gently permeate through their body and enables their muscles to feel more open for massage. While this type of therapy is beneficial for many; there are points of caution when taking anti-clotting medications. If you are interested in heated hydrotherapy, let’s talk about if it may be a good fit for you. Dates to Remember March 12th is Plant a Flower Day. Spring is creeping around the corner. Celebrate with a splash of color and get those happy dopamine hormones jazzed. March 14th is Pi Day. Yes technically Pi is math. But then there is PIE! I think my personal favorite is anything with meringue. March 22nd is National Goof Off Day. Start your week off with a giggle. Some easy ideas are mismatched socks, funny faced selfies, or a comedy movie to round out your day. March 26th is National Spinach Day. This is my all time favorite super food. I can cook with it for a boost, add it to salad or even toss a couple handfuls into a smoothie. Recipes For me, it is hard to stay hydrated when I am cold. Doing a flavor boost really helps me to want water. Keeping hydrated is an important part of staying healthy. It promotes cardiovascular health, keeps your body cool, helps your joints move and keeps your skin soft. Try adding a couple of slices of lemon or lime to your water. Self Care Want to give someone in your life a relaxing foot massage? Grab some lotion and follow these instructions. Use your thumbs to apply light pressure to the arch of their foot, right below the ball of their foot. Move one thumb clockwise and the other thumb counterclockwise in small circles. Do this for at least 30 seconds. Place your thumbs on opposite ends of their foot and move them toward one another. Do this at least three to five times, moving up and down the bottom of their feet, slowly not to tickle. Repeat on the other foot. Promotions Established Healing Treasures Massage clients like yourself have the benefit of purchasing pre-paid sessions as a great way to save up to 10% off. They have no expiration date and can be used by multiple people. Some businesses even choose to use this feature by keeping a balance of available sessions ’on tab’ as a means of celebrating their employees. I want to give a grateful virtual hug of acknowledgement here to those who have contributed to the Pay It Forward program. We all have different seasons in which we are able to do and provide for others. Thank you for making it possible for those who are unable to financially afford therapeutic massage to be able to receive a session. As I close this up today, please know how grateful I am to be a slice of your wellness journey. I take your trust and comfort seriously. If you have any questions or comments at all about the contents of this newsletter, or anything else for that matter, please reach out. I am here for you. Peace and wellness to you in all you do. AuthorI have a deep passion for helping others. Really that is the bottom line. Helping people be released from discomfort. Helping people be present in the life they are given. Helping people know that they are each valuable original treasures unlike no one else ever. To humbly be part of seeing a person hold onto whatever peace they need at that present time. Yes that is my passion. Archives
