Hello Treasured You,
I hope this finds you doing wonderfully well as we roll into the new-ness of 2021. I count it an honor to be partnering with you on your self-care journey and I have exciting news to share with you. Beginning with this letter I am instituting a new format that offers consistent helps, tips, advice, and care in hopes of encouraging you in your day to day wellness. In each monthly email, you will find ~Office Updates~ ~Fun Trivia~ ~Hydration Recipes~ ~Self Care~ & ~Special Offers~ I hope you find it fun, beneficial and supportive. Let’s get started…… Office Happenings: You asked and I listened. There are now products for sale in the office that are designed to help with relief, relaxation, and support in your daily wellness. There is an array of CBD products, bath salts, muscle rubs, Tune Up therapy balls, lotion, and neck cradles. Everything has been chosen with attention to quality and detail while still being easy on finances. January Calendar Trivia: Some days, it is easy to see the sun shine. Other days it can take a bit more effort. Just for fun, I thought I would share some calendar days that can bring a smile.
Apple Water Ingredients: 8 slices Granny Smith apple 5 slices fresh ginger 2 - 1-inch pieces lemongrass Water Instructions: Combine water, Granny Smith apple, ginger, and lemongrass in a 32-fluid ounce Mason jar or pitcher. Stir gently, cover, and refrigerate until flavors combine, at least 1 hour. Self Care: Here is a quick breathing exercise you can use anytime, anywhere to help you calm the nervous system, increase focus, and reduce stress:
'Pay What You Can' - While I believe everyone can benefit from the value that massage therapy offers, not everyone has the financial means of receiving a session. Because of this, since the first day I opened my practice, I have offered a ‘Pay What You Can’ to those who are in need. It is based on the honor system in respecting the different financial seasons we can all be in. It offers 1-60 minute therapy session per month. If you find yourself in a season of needing massage but needing a financial break, let’s talk. 'Pay It Forward' – At times, folks feel led to help balance out the finances of someone else’s massage in the 'Pay What You Can' program. While it is not a tax deductible donation, the good Samaritan heart rewards are bountiful. If you feel that you would like to make a cash donation into this program please let me know. Tipping - Thank you for your understanding these past few months as we have transitioned into not receiving tips. I appreciate your generosity in wanting to monetarily say thank you and value your respect to my request. I would not want tipping to ever be a source of awkwardness or emotional expectation for anyone. Rather, not tipping allows for other opportunities like you being able to save up your funds to come in more often. Alternatively, if you would like, your cash “tips” can instead be rolled into a Pay It Forward donation. Gift Certificates and Pre Paids: I have a beautiful new supply of gift certificates printed up for whenever you want to share with your loved ones. Also for your convenience, there is a button on my website for purchasing e-certificates and scheduling appointments when time is of essence. And the pre-paid is always an option in saving money for established clients. Using this feature can save you up to 10% on appointments and does not have expiration date. Let me know if you would like to know more about either of these great options. Thank you for taking the time to let me share with you today. I appreciate you and am so grateful for your trust in your wellness support. Myself and Healing Treasures Massage are here for you and because of you. Peace and wellness to you Julie Haugen Owner / Oregon LMT#24125 HealingTreasuresMassageTherapy.com

Hello Treasured You,
I hope this finds you doing well. In this month's email issue, you will find info on the following:
For the rest of this month, all 60 minute and longer prepaid sessions and gift certificates are 10% off. You can contact me to arrange payment or purchase via the button on my website. Be sure to use the code: 2020JOYFOCUS to receive your discount. My Celebrations As always, I pursue more learning of the different things I can offer to you in therapy sessions. Covid has proved to be slightly challenging in being able to attend hands on classes. All the same, I have been blessed in pursuing opportunities for prenatal support and pediatric massage. Most recently I was able to put knowledge to the experience in being part of the professional support team that birthed our newest grandbaby. Not only was it beautiful on a personal level for me, but also being able to see first hand how massage can offer real support in the moment and bring measured relief. I am so grateful for the opportunities I am able to be part of. To partner with you in your wellness journey as you share your aches, pains, and stresses. Thank you for your trust. Healing Treasures Massage is here because of you. If I don't see you before the end of the holidays, be well, be safe, and have a wonderful time making all the heart filled memories you can. Sincerely, Julie Haugen Owner & Oregon LMT #24125 HealingTreasuresMassageTherapy.com [email protected] Hello wonderful you,
I hope this finds you warm, refreshed, and well. Now that we are settling into November, I want to check in with you about a couple of things as I ponder how best I can partner with you in your self care journey. In this email you will find the following topics:
Feeling Sick That being said, this is the time of year where colder temperatures can encourage colds, flus, and the like. If you are feeling buggy at all; please know you will not be charged a fee for rescheduling. We all cherish our needed massage therapy times but it is so much better to err on the side of caution then on the side on the side of regret. Other Illnesses Along with the regular wintery types of germs; the extra stress of this year has also brought on higher numbers of other types of illnesses. These stress induced illnesses can often show through our skin because one of the many functions of our skin is to signal to us when our inner body is fighting something. These signals can be things like cold sores, shingles, bacterial lesions, and rashes. Sometimes these situations warrant putting a temporary pause on massage or a different way of doing massage. No matter the situation, your health safety is always my first concern. If you have a health condition that you are not sure of for your appointment, let's talk about it before hand so that we can make the best possible healthy choice for your wellness. Scheduling I have the online scheduler running on my website again. You can still schedule with me via email, text, and phone. But if you like the convenience of jumping online yourself, you will find my website easy to navigate. HealingTreasuresMassageTherapy.com Holiday Gift Certificates We are approaching the holiday gift giving season and gift certificates for your loved ones will be available at a discount. Let me know if you would like me to set some aside for you. In Office Products Speaking of special things, I am considering having a few items available in my office in general for your benefit. Would you find it helpful if I carried certain products or therapeutic helps? If so, what types of things would you like me to carry? Some ideas would be: CBD products, bath salts, essential oils, diffusers, self help massage tools, lotions, salt lamps, etc.... Just hit reply to this email and let me know your opinion. Other Opportunities
Peace and wellness to you Julie Haugen Oregon LMT #24125 Healing Treasures Massage LLC Hello Treasured You,
I hope this finds you doing wonderfully well and enjoying your summer in the best way possible. I have a few things to share here so please take a quick look when you can. I am incredibly thankful for you. This first month of being able to schedule appointments again has been so wonderful. Everyone has been great in understanding the new guidelines for practice within the best health and safety standards possible. Thank you to all of you for your ease in this transition. To tip or not to tip 'tis the question. This has been a point of discussion in many recent sessions as I have turned off the tipping feature of my card reader. Many of you have requested it be turned back on. That blesses me more than you can imagine. Thank you for the outward act of love that you want to shower upon me. At this time however, I am choosing to keep it off for a couple of reasons:
Paying It Forward: As you can attest, massage therapy helps not only for sudden injuries but also helps to maintain quality of life levels in chronic every day care. There are times when I receive calls from someone who is in need of care but their financial situation threatens to make that care an impossibility. If you know me at all, you know I won't turn anyone away. I believe that quality massage care makes a difference and everyone deserves to experience that change. If you would like to partner with me in donating (any amount) towards the care of another, please let me know. It would not be a tax deductible giving, but I would make sure it helps provide massage for someone who would otherwise not benefit. Reminder of September Rate Increase. This is my first ever increase and I do not plan on having another for quite a long time. As always, if this is a huge hardship, please let me know so we can discuss options available to you. Beginning September the new rates will be as follows: Regular Massage Session:
August 2020 Pre-Paid Discounted Packages
Scheduling: thank you for your understanding in contacting me right now for appointments. Eventually I will have the online scheduling feature turned back on. For now, you are welcome to contact me through any of these means to schedule an appointment:
As always, I do all that I can to support your wellness journey. Please keep in mind that massage therapy is a support therapy and not a diagnostic service. If you have concerns regarding any signs or symptoms that your body is showing you, it is always wise and safe to check with your acting physician. Thank you for trusting me and allowing me to take part in your wellness journey. Peace to you Julie Haugen Owner & therapist Oregon LMT #24125 Healing Treasures Massage HealingTreasuresMassageTherapy.com Dear Treasures,
I pray this finds you doing well in all that encompasses your days. Like many of you, I have been using my days differently; both focusing inward as well as outward. These past few months have held trials and loss, joys and new experiences, furthering educational opportunities, and restructuring my office just to name a few key moments that roll through my brain. The time is finally here where I get to announce that I can open my schedule for appointments. I have missed you greatly and look forward to spending time with you. There is so much that I need to share with you on many levels of information and awareness. Please, it is important that you take the time to read through this as there is much to share in how my office will function moving forward as well as fee updates and office availability. So pour a nice cuppa and let’s go through this together….. What have I done and are doing to be covid compliant?
What can you do to help be covid compliant?
How do you book an appointment? In the past, scheduling online was easily done with a few quick clicks. I will be eventually opening that feature again. For now, I ask that you text / call / email /fb messenger chat with me to get your sessions scheduled. Text/Call: 503-320-1650 Email: [email protected] FB Messenger Chat: @HealingTreasuresMassageTherapy When is my office open now? I will be available for sessions on Mondays / Wednesdays / Fridays / occasional Saturdays from 10am-7pm Can you drop by the office at any time to schedule or make a purchase? Unfortunately I am not set up for that. If I am at the office I am either getting ready for a client or are with a client. Please see info above for scheduling and purchasing. You tested covid positive a while back and no longer have symptoms. Can you receive massage? This is a time where I would ask you have written consent from your doctor that you are fine to receive massage. As with any other pathology, I want you to be informed and knowledgeable about your body. Please be aware that there is much to learn about covid in the coming months. Current science shows that covid positive clients can have blood clots systemically throughout their body. Massage definitely can stir the circulatory system, inadvertently moving / dislodging clots. This does not mean “be scared” or that “you can never have massage again”. It only means that I want you to be informed and knowledgeable in your choices. What does session check in look like now?
Do you have to wear a mask while receiving massage? Yes. Wearing a mask the whole time is the request of my office. I have purposed to wear a mask while receiving my own massage so that I can know firsthand what it feels like and I actually forgot I had it on. That being said, if you have a medical condition that makes mask wearing difficult, please let me know. There are adjustments I can make while you are laying face down for open breathing. Other important things for you to be aware of
That was a lot to share. Thank you for sticking with me to the end. If you have questions about anything, please know that I am happy to discuss things with you. I look forward to our time together of self care in celebrating the treasure that you are. Peace and wellness to you. Julie Haugen Owner / Oregon LMT #24215 Healing Treasures Massage LLC Dear Treasure,
You have been a constant on my mind in these days and weeks. I pray this finds you and all of yours doing well, staying safe, being healthy, and looking for opportunities for goodness to shine. Today marks the 2nd anniversary of opening Healing Treasures Massage and I simply cannot let the day go by without telling you how much I appreciate you in this journey. It is because of you, your patronage, your trust, and your word of mouth that I am able to humbly move in this beautiful opportunity of helping folks recognize peace and relief in their bodies. It does feel odd that this celebration has snuck up on us when we haven’t been able to be together recently. I promise I am not going away and these times will change. With news headlines of the metro area starting to open back up, people have begun to ask what the plans are for my office. It is not a simple question for me to answer. As a business owner there is a vast amount of information floating around to wade through that is both factual as well as tainted. There is also much criteria (as there should be) to adhere to when responsibly opening doors to be of service. While I cannot tell you just yet when I will be able to take appointments again; I can tell you that I am doing all I can to strengthen my knowledge and reinforce my office procedures. Many of my criteria list of essentials are currently on back order so that will be a factor in my timetable as well as adhering to my own comfort level in wanting to do all I can to ensure the safest possible environment for us all. For those who have purchased gift certificates and pre-paid sessions, please know that your timetable has not been shortened in any way. Expiration dates are void and your purchases will be honored no matter what. As these next few weeks play out, I will keep you updated on when I can realistically and safely open for appointments. Until then, if you have any questions at all on the details of what I am doing or would like help strategizing muscle areas that are giving you unrest, please know that I am here for you. We all deserve to feel the best we possibly can with our bodies. Treasuring you in all you are. Julie Haugen Healing Treasures Massage LLC Owner / Oregon LMT #24125 Hello Treasured,
I pray this finds you and yours are doing well and staying safe in these current times. Whether you are in a position of being temporarily laid off, telecommuting, isolation, or in a position of working as normal; I know the entire world feels upside down right now. As you are aware, per Oregon’s Executive Order 20-12, Healing Treasures Massage is currently closed to appointments in order to ethically participate in lessening the curve of this virus. The collateral fall out being that with all of the stress and changes, you are probably feeling that chronic ache and stiffness creep in. It is an unfortunate present circumstance for sure. I care deeply about your health and well being, and personally I greatly miss being part of your wellness and self care journey. To help in that avenue, if you have not subscribed to my business facebook page, may I invite you to do so. You can find me by typing this into the search @HealingTreasuresMassageTherapy I will be posting helps and tips and checking in every couple of days while we are encouraged to shelter in place. If there is a specific aid or technique that you would like help with, please let me know and I will see what I can do. We all deserve to feel good and as mobile as possible in our bodies. Some of you have asked about purchasing Healing Treasures Massage gift certificates for future appointments. I know the finances of these days can be weighted, but if you feel you would like to do that now to provide for later, then it would be a huge blessing on your end as well as mine. To that aspect, I have activated a convenient "Gift Certificate" button on my web page. You can access it by going here: HealingTreasuresMassageTherapy.com I also want to share the beautiful information that I have placed below in this letter. A wonderful colleague of mine wrote this out and I think it is a great reminder of the things we need. Skin hunger is a real thing and can lead to increased feelings of anxiety and depression as well as other health concerns. We produce a hormone called oxytocin that relieves stress and makes us feel good. The easiest way to get oxytocin is from safe skin on skin contact. Even a friendly handshake can create a spike of this hormone, but hugs produce even more. Other ways of creating this feel-good hormone can be: *Petting and snuggling your pet. Don’t have a pet, but always wanted the free time to train/acclimate one? The Oregon Humane Society, the Pixie Project, and other nonprofits would love for you to contact them! *Taking a hot shower or bath, then taking the time to put on lotion/cream afterwards. Not just a luxury, lotions help us maintain a healthy barrier to minimize entrance of pathogens (remember 6th-grade Science class? The biggest organ in the body is the skin). *Eating a warm meal. Why the focus on warm? From Eastern medicine, we learn that warm foods can dispel the influences of “damp" and “cold" (lots of this in cooped-up stressful times). *Laughter. Watch your favorite “funnies" with ZERO guilt. It’s now medically necessary! *Seeing pictures of fond memories. Memory can be stored at the cellular level, releasing pleasant memories can alter our physical experience. *Giving and sharing of ourselves—financially to a nonprofit, if you can, yet also offering a smile and wave to a stranger as we keep our social distance on walking paths/at the pharmacy/etc., can have a mood-boosting effect for both the recipient *and* you! It’s called the feel-good hormone for a reason. So, even though we cannot touch, we can connect to others and ourselves, to feel a little bit better. *Fresh air and movement. If pain and disability is not allowing you to “take a hike", put on your favorite music and wiggle your toes, your ankles, wave your hands, shift your hips (even in your seat!). Open a window. Sit on your patio, if you have one. If you do have the ability to move (slowly, quickly, no one’s judging), get out there! While social distancing, of course… As always, I am here for you. I pray encouraged joy for you and I know we will weather through all of this. Be safe, be well, and know you are always treasured. Yours, Julie Haugen LMT 24125 Healing Treasures Massage LLC [email protected] March 17, 2020
Concerning COVID19 I know you have received many emails and communications in this last week concerning the COVID19 virus and its implications. Please, I ask for your attention a moment in reading thru what I have to share. It is with deep and careful consideration that I have come to the decision to not offer massage appointments, both in office as well as mobile out-call. This goes in effect today, March 17th. It is a decision that is completely not based in fear but one of careful protection to you. I provide appointments for many who are immune compromised with chronic conditions. As soon as we are passed this crisis, I will be open again. Here are the key elements that have brought me to this decision:
While you and I both know I provide medical therapeutic massage that offers opportunity to shift how you feel both physically and emotionally; it is not a necessity. No matter how careful I am to always clean my office and prepare a perfect place for you, we are sharing air together in breath work. No matter how I strategize, I cannot effectively provide a massage session without breaking that 6 feet of interpersonal space. You know my heart. It would be an indescribable tragedy if someone contracted this virus from being in my office. Does this mean that Healing Treasures Massage is going away? Absolutely not. I am completely here for you and not going anywhere. As soon as the ban is lifted I will be scheduling appointments again. Until then, I will be working on other aspects of my business like computer files, creative ideas, looking for different things I can provide as a help to you, as well as diving in to other ways I can personally help within my community. As the days go on and you think of ways I can offer assistance in your realm, please let me know. Is there a certain stretch you want to know how to make more effective? Or how do you get to that knot building up in an area? Would you like different ideas to de-stress in this temporary world change? If you have question about it then chances are someone else is wondering the same. Let me know and I will do all I can in videos to help out. Financially the next few months has the potential to be a strain on many. To help you, if you would like to pre-purchase sessions to have on hold for when the ban is lifted, that is available to all of my clients here at Healing Treasures Massage. As I said before, these decisions are not based in fear but are made for your benefit in slowing the curve and keeping you safe. It could completely be that once the virus has fizzled out and we all sit around going “hmmm that wasn’t so bad.” That would truly mean that we got ahead of the curve. I miss you already and I know we will get through all of this together. Stay calm and safe. Hug your loves, because no matter what world we are in – those hugs always matter. Gratefully and prayerfully, Julie Haugen Healing Treasures Massage LLC HealingTreasuresMassageTherapy.com Fb: @HealingTreasuresMassageTherapy

AuthorI have a deep passion for helping others. Really that is the bottom line. Helping people be released from discomfort. Helping people be present in the life they are given. Helping people know that they are each valuable original treasures unlike no one else ever. To humbly be part of seeing a person hold onto whatever peace they need at that present time. Yes that is my passion. Archives
